Relating Reflexology to Health is a teaching aid and part of the Clinical Reflexology Training Programme. It is based entirely on the UK Core Curriculum and takes the student through 172 disorders and conditions likely to be encountered by reflexologists. It is designed to encourage students to research Medical Dictionaries; Pharmaceutical Guides, Reflexology Textbooks and Biology sources, along with their case and client studies to concisely document the following aspects of these conditions:

Brief description of the condition; symptoms; conventional / usual treatments; related reflexology points / areas for emphasis; rationale fore these and any adaptations to a reflexology treatment this condition may require.

Foot Treatment Pattern

A4 (Portfolio fit 210 mm x 297 mm)
Colour, laminated. £

At a glance can be referred to during treatment.

Many practitioners have this on the clinic wall next to their wall chart.
A recommended treatment sequence that has been carefully planned to cover all reflexes efficiently and effectively.

It will be most useful to those who need to change from working one complete foot followed by the other. Working both feet together facilitates the clinical approach – comparing left to right when working the many reflexes that are in pairs; working complete items that lie across both feet or are linked.

Treatment Recording Sheets

All Clinical Reflexology Practitioners are encouraged to use the same treatment recording system
There is sound rationale for this:

Standardised treatment records will:

  • facilitate multi-practitioner research programmes; the results can be compared and logged if the same recording method is used
  • facilitate patient referral to other practitioners – they can take or have their records sent to the new reflexologist who will be able to use them
  • facilitate deputisation – recognizable to a replacement practitioner or locum
  • patients / clients will be reassured by recognisable, consistent paperwork
  • 15 treatments can be compared on one sheet. Highlights trends with symptoms and clearly demonstrates to patients their response to treatment
  • encourage the copying of master treatment record sheets and the use by non - MCAR practitioners.
